Avenue Of Flags was the original location of the coast highway when it first came to Buellton in 1917. When the coast highway was moved to its current location in the 1960s, the old highway lanes and grass medians from the original highway remained.

Frommer’s was recently looking for a different kind of wine country just a short drive from Los Angeles, and Buellton turned out to be just what they were looking for.
The first Sunday in December is Buellton’s annual Winter Fest. This one-of-a-kind experience is fun for the whole family, and a perfect way to kick off the winter holidays!
Start the day at Breakfast With Santa in the Buellton Rec Center, then head to Avenue of Flags for some wintery fun with 20 tons of snow and the Winter Fest Village – a vendors showcase including wine, beer and food! As the sun goes down, the community Light Parade weaves its way around the avenue just before the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Break out the lights and decorate your own vehicle or bikes: join in the fun!

We’re bringing the heat to St. Patty’s Day!
If you love chili and a good time, save the date for Buellton’s annual Buellton Wine & Chili Festival, returning on March 17, 2019. Sip on samples from over 25 wineries, craft breweries and spirits. Plus enjoy bites from the best local chefs and restaurants, all competing to take home prizes for the best red chili, chile verde and homemade salsa in Santa Ynez Valley.
General Admission tickets get you unlimited wine and chili samples all day! This event is family friendly, so youth tickets are available for purchase as well.

What started as a quiet haven for wine and beer production has evolved in to a diverse collection of great food, artisan wine, beer and spirits, and unique experiences like making your own custom wood cutting board.
